Find out what young people told us about their views and experiences of community health and wellbeing services.

Two of our volunteers visited wards and departments at Kettering General Hospital 43 times between April 2019 to March 2020 to provide the hospital with feedback using the 15 Steps Challenge tool. Their findings have been summarised into a report.

Volunteers from Northamptonshire’s Maternity Voice Partnership and Healthwatch Northamptonshire conducted a virtual 15 Steps Visit of the labour and postnatal wards at Northampton General Hospital and Kettering General Hospital on 30 June 2020.

Young Healthwatch Northamptonshire has had a busy year!

During 2019-20 we undertook some exciting projects and continued to ensure that the views and needs of the people of Northamptonshire are considered, particularly as services and organisations are restructured.

Thanks to a Takeover Challenge grant, Young Healthwatch Northamptonshire and Northamptonshire Young Carers Service were able to work together to explore the needs and experiences of young carers.

Last year Northamptonshire County Council commissioned us to find out what changes are needed in the way they provide adult social care.

Healthwatch Northamptonshire has been carrying out a series of visits to NHS and Social Care funded services in Northamptonshire to ascertain the experience and opinions of service users, with a particular focus on mental health.

Young Healthwatch Northamptonshire was commissioned by Public Health Northamptonshire to carry out a review of Personal, Social, Health and Education (PSHE) in Northamptonshire schools. The report has now been published.

Healthwatch Northamptonshire representatives carry out visits to health and social care services to ascertain the quality of care, experience and opinions of service users and make recommendations where there are areas for improvement.
